The About Us Page gives a brief history of our organization as well as an overview of clients that we have supported.
The Portland Printer Place, Inc. is a company with decades of history that has stayed focused on its core mission of providing value to customers in the world of data output.
The business was started in the 70’s as Remtek Business Products when Remington Rand decided to spin off their regional offices. The regional manager for Remington Rand, purchased the Portland branch office. The products being offered at the time included Remington Rand office furniture, calculation devices, and typewriters. The typewriter became the core part of the business.
Remtek Business Products was one of Brother’s first US dealers, and became one of Brother’s largest dealers. Customers such as Interstate Bank and US Bank purchased their typewriters from Remtek. Computer printers were introduced into the newly opened Printer Place in Beaverton in 1987. Computer printers quickly became the mainstay of the business, and have been the primary focus of the business ever since.
